The Sinclair QL also provides a female 8 pin DIN for its monitor socket although the signals output by
each pin are slightly different to the Spectrum 128. The pin-out configuration is shown below.

| Pin |
Signal |
Level |
| 1 | Composite PAL | 1V pk-pk |
| 2 | 0 Volts DC | 0V |
| 3 | Composite Mono Video | 1V pk-pk |

Sinclair QL RGB colour outputs require additional resistors, as does the composite sync signal. The circuitry required is shown below.
Connecting the CSYNC line to the BLANKING pin directly yields about 1.65V and this is between the required range of 1V to 3V. This will cause the TV
to display an RGB signal when the SCART socket is selected. However, it may be necessary to provide +12V to the SCART socket's FUNCTION SWITCHING pin if
the TV does not allow manual selection of the SCART socket. This +12V must be obtained from an external source, and
a voltage regulator circuit can be used as shown for the lead circuitry of the Spectrum 128.
